Lack of TAPS kills the deal instantly, at least for me. TAPS and the Tige hull are the two main advantages of Tige. Having a few ballast bags here and there is NOT the same as TAPS. That can be done in any boat from any manufacturer.

The R20 just became completely meaningless IMHO.

Why do you guys always expect a price point boat to have all the goodies??? All i ever see is that we need all the options but then your not willing to pay the price? Not trying to argue here just saying it blatantly so maybe it will become clear that you dont/cant get something for nothing.

Tige is not trying to make bayliners. They are making something that can get more people into the sport and move them up the line into the more plush loaded Tige's down the road. RZR/Z1.

If you want all the goodies in a 20' boat then they have created the RZR. If you are looking to get into the sport, but can see the pricing on an RZR over a Sea Ray/Bayliner/Blah Blah Blah, or if you are looking into moomba's, and Axis, then you will be more interested in the R20.

Ok I must chime in here and hope Tige listens to a customer like myself... I love boating... absolutely love it and here in Central IL I can do it for roughly 5 months give or take. To me and most of the people I know spending 50k on a new boat is ridiculous because we just get to use it for 5 months of the year the other 7 months its sitting in storage. A price point boat should cater to people like myself who don't want/need to spend the big bucks on a boat. Price point should be in the 35k area... I mean come on guys I love my Tige 20i and it does pretty much what I want it to but a v drive would be nice. I don't know I guess I am just rambling but to me price point is not 40k+ and I believe it makes wakeboard companies like Tige lose customers to the Rinkers , and Chaparall's of the boating industry. Yes yes I know those are I/O but I believe people would buy more inboards if they were more cost effective. Maybe this is just me but I think its more...

The point is that Tige is not a Rinker, Chapparall, Tige is much more, you can not expect Tige to make a boat for that pricing because its unfair competition. Tige makes a world class boat at a completely different level then the above listed, whether you see that or not. The inboard is so much more, so much higher quality, its not comparable from the start so how can you expect them to have identical pricing?

You are gonna want a few ballast bags even with TAPS.

I agree AJ but the beauty of TAPS is being able to fine tune and shape the wake after your ballasts are full

I remember picts of Benj behind a 22i where he was getting pro air. This is what TAPS and Tige are all about. The ability to use TAPS with weight to create infinite points of control. Odd to see a fixed wake plate...

TAPS is no instant ballast maker but a wake shaper IMO. The size might increase slightly but that is probably because the lip gets sharper with more TAPS and rounded with less TAPS.

Don't confused TAPS for ballast.

I agree with everything you said but I do think that the TAPS system is so associated with the Brand Tige that is should be Standard equipment on all their boats.
At what similar TAPS setting did they fix the wake plate?

The only thing that's dissapointing to me is how the rear bench is set up, I was hoping this would be my next boat but I'm not sure after seeing the rear bench. I'm going to have to sit it one to see if I can over come that hump? Ohter than that the boat looks beautiful!

This may sound odd, but TAPS was the reason we went with a boat with a power wedge. We still wanted the ability to shape the wake on the fly. FYI - we had no Tige dealer in NC when we were in the market for a new boat last year.

Just to add...I don't think you will see any less quality from Tige in either of these new models.

Doesn't sound odd at all. Now that I have experienced the ability to change the wake on the fly, I don't think I would buy a boat without it.

I agree that taps should be standard but all that will do is drive the price up on the boat a little bit.

its the price we are willing to pay is the bottom line, everything on that boat is an option, its up to you to make it what you want within your price range you want to spend.

TAPS is still available as an option on the R20 and can be added later as riders progress.

yes, but adding it later will come at a significant cost. I also think people will just continue to work with additional weight instead of putting in TAPS.

I also agree 911 with what you wrote. I think I see TAPS as a core competency of a Tige boat. While it will come at an extra cost, I am not sure the cost is excessive. Maybe it is a feeling/perception thing - I think of TAPS as part of a Tige.

I am not saying they need to be EXACT price as those boats I just saying that some people look at the tige's and love the look but then see the price tag and will never be able to afford one and the way they keep rising the prices the boats keep getting farther and farther out of reach... I know Tige is quality and this is probably a bad comparison but I am just trying to say that Tige could get a lot bigger customer base by having a lower price.. not trying to argue or anything but there are people out there that don't want to spend big money for a boat they don't get to use all year round

Please explain to me the difference between a solid I/O from Rinker, Chaparral or Sea Ray and an inboard from Tige, etc? If both boats have equal motors what makes an inboard cost more then an I/O? I love my V-Drive seating and storage but I've been a few I/O's that appeared to be equally well put together for substantially less money. I'm not arguing, I'd just like to look the next time I see the two together.
