    Tower Speakers

I am going to be collecting all my stereo needs over the next week or so and I am wondering what tower speakers reconmendations are out there. I have had double Polks from Liquid Audio on 1 boat and Wet sounds pro 80's on my last boat. Obviously the later where louder and more clear. Is there a good product between these 2?

    Has anyone tried the following??
Samson S7HD Speakers $849 (black enclosure), $899 (chrome enclosure

    Can anyone comment on these??

INFINITY 6000M Marine tower speaker system

Would 4 middle of the road speakers on the tower better than say 2 pro 8-0's?

I like the idea of having 4 separate speakers on the tower just for Autistics.

I'm a dealer for Exile Audio, who actually makes the drivers for the S7HD's. Their version is the XM7, but only comes in black finish. I have installed a few lately and have had great reviews from them, for both their sound and the clamp system. They have a 9" (XM9) version on the horizon.

I'm guessing you dont have the 4 speaker polk setup or the Pro80's any more?

You would have to really push the chit out of 2 pair of in-boat type speakers to get the projection that an HLCD will give you.

I like the idea of having 4 separate speakers on the tower just for Autistics. If this is what you seek, then I would suggest taking a look at the new Kicker KM6500.2 tower speaker setup. It's a 4 can setup = 2 mids and 2 horns.

The new Samson S7HD are very nice. I have done installs on those now on four boats and they are in audio capability pretty close to Wet Sounds. I really like the swivel clamp they ofter. The negative to that is over time I think it will create resistance and it could become a problem. But I have not heard of any problems yet.

          Dave,

If you are wanting 4 speakers. You could do 2 pairs of PRO 60's and be set. If you are wanting to not do a pro audio based system. You could always go with 2 pairs of the XST-650 which is the 60 housing loaded with the XS-650 coax speakers. This will give you great sound for surfing or in an around the boat. White or Black. We also have a step down from there loaded with the 65 series speaker. We also offer the SWT-650 which is the closed grille for a different style. In white or black. Also we offer these in the 65 series of this speaker too. So options options options to fit your budget, style and your sound goals.

Tim hit it on the nail. As always Wetsounds rules the water. Wetsounds is really starting to offer more and more budget size systems.

You really have to choose what you want. I do know that One of the systems I built was on Lake Travis with Tim's WetSounds boat and the owner although he only waved at Tim,(Tim it was a yellow and black TIGE Z1 during the concert on the lake) felt that the only boat on the water louder than his was Tim's WetSounds boat. We did build the system for a reasonable cost.

WetSounds is the superior boat audio. Other do build good speakers though just not as good as WS. If I were you I would look at the cost of a WetSounds system and go from that point if a system can not be put into budget. I know for sure the XS-650 coax speakers Tim is referencing will stomp on the Kicker tower speakers and give the Samsons a run for the money. I have heard them in the can's at the WetSounds office in Houston. The Samsons are a good in between on the upper end Wetsouds and the more cost effective ones but like I said the design has a few hickups in my opinion when it comes to resistance factors, This will cause speaker noise and a host of other problems (which I did not say above). WetSounds still used the speakon connector which is much better than the meat tempature prob that Samson uses. The biggest plus to WetSounds that I know from experiance is WetSounds has your back on issue with product quality. That is huge in todays business world. If you can pull off a WetSounds system you will certainly be a very happy camper. What ever you decide to do go with a Marine Product manufacture. It does make a diffrence.

TIM, I did not know you released those for sale. I am glad you jumped on here.

              Thanks SPBFAN!

We just released the new ATV line as well for all the side by sides. But only have a little pic on the main page. Same with the others. Tons of new stuff in house but trying to get all the pics done and loaded up on the site is always tough. We will have all the new stuff on the site soon. I am going to start dropping a pic here and there on our facebook page as that is quicker to do.
