    Epic Day!

After a few bad trys last year my daughter pretty much didnt want anything to do with wakeboarding. Well today that all changed. After working with her in the pool a couple times over the last week she nailed it today.

At one point after a nice little run she fell. i made my way back to her and she was starting to tear up and cry. i asked her if she was ok. She said yes. I asked why she was crying. She said because I am so happy i did it.She took to it like a champ and ended up making it all the way around the lake. Proud dad moment for sure!

Woohoo, it is always nice to see the kids return to something that they gave up on. We have a similar situation with one of our kids also...

She is 9. The mistake I made before is not doing any prep before we tried to pull her up. So when she got pulled over the front she freaked out when she could not turn over on her back with the board on. Although she could float fine on her belly she didnt know this. So this time we went to the pool with the board and I just let her float around so she could see that no matter what she could float just fine. Then I made her practice flipping over with the board on. This is important so when they do fall they can get back into postion easy without wearing themselves out. Then I took a dog leash and hooked it to a handle and I started pulling her up so she could get the feel of it. Then this weekend we moved to the boat. She got pulled out the front twice put didnt freak she flipped right back over and said I know I didnt keep my weight back. So on the 3rd try boom she got it. After that i didnt have to say a thing she got up4-5 times through out the day. Riding farhter and farther each time. The other funny thing a friend of mine had is son out and we tried to teach him as well I went through the same tips before gave him a few tugs with the leash. Put him behind the boat he came real close on the first 2 pulls and then didnt really want to try anymore. Oh man my daughter was like a shark in a frenzy after this..she could do something a boy couldnt oh she was all about that. She was giving him pointers and telling him watch my legs and see how I kep them bent and so on so forth..she turned into a wake coach after only riding for about 30 minutes. It was funny I have never seen that side of her before.

Boating is the best thing for the family. That is a great story. Thanks for sharing. I think the pics show it all.

                            Awesome Kevin!

Our 6-year-old boy just got up (and finally stayed up) a week ago after getting some pointers from Ruck the day before. It was definitely a proud moment, for him and me. We also got him going on a surfboard after that.

I worked with him earlier this Spring and told him he couldn't even try behind the boat until he could flip the board by himself. We would strap the board on and practice so he would be comfortable after falling over the front of the board. I would strongly recommend that for anyone trying to get their groms going on a wakeboard.
