    Warranty Repair

On a new purchase what happens or what arrangements can be made if there is NO tige dealership close to you for warranty work??

I think that you would have to work out an agreement with your local shop and with Tige. Sometimes I think those agreements can be tough if the shop wants to charge more than Tige wants to pay.

Also, I think that many problems become unique to Tige boats and are best handled by someone with connections to corporate Tige and someone who works on them all the time.

YOu might already have a PCM authorized dealer near you, and I would bet that the engine is not a problem.
    Be excellent to one another.

      1. What Tige did for me once was to tell me to go to my choice of service dept and send them the bill once repairs were done.

      2. My selling dealer offered to drive to my home state (4 hours from them) and pick up my boat and deliver it back when done.

      3. Guess you could always drive the distance to your closest dealer! And given the economy, this is probably what Tige will tell you to do.

Your best bet would be to call your regional rep and find out how he would handle things for you. My regional rep (Mark Gibbs) is pretty freaking cool, and I've had to go to him, around the dealer sometimes to get stuff done. Always willing to keep a customer happy!

        Where exactly are you located?

I would have an agreement with Tige BEFORE you buy the boat. I agree it would need to be the regional rep or Harvey at the factory. There are a few of us who are less than happy with the warranty support in our areas (or lack there of). From what Harvey told me, if my boat was still under the labor warranty I would have to go to a Tige authorized dealer for them to pay the labor. He said he'd get parts for me at no charge (under warranty) and send them to any boar service provider (but I'd still be on the hook for warranty).

Talltigeguy is correct regarding PCM. If it's a PCM issue you can take it to any PCM authorized service company for their warranty.

Good luck and good question. Just get it worked out before you buy the boat...while you have some leverage and know what you are getting into.

Since I am new to Tige boats, how much warranty is left on a 2006 boat? I thought it was a 3 year warranty and then lifetime hull, but if you transfer ownership the hull warranty goes down to 10 years, is there more?

This boat hasn't been sold yet. The dealership used it a couple of times for competitions around the Province.

I need to look in my documentation and verify, but when I talked to Harvey regarding my boat, he said during the first year parts and labor are covered. Years two and three are parts only. I haven't looked into the details of the hull warranty.

I'd definitely want to get something worked out directly with Tige (not just your dealer) before buying the boat. From PCM's website there is a Supreme Boats in Blumenort Manitoba that sells PCM...not sure how far away that is from you...but you should be able to get warranty work on your engine there...if it's more convenient.
