Please help!! Is 335hp enough to power a 2004 24v? Thinking of having 6 adults and some kids with some gear and of course having enough ballast to get a good wake. Or will just having the right prop be enough? I don't have to go super fast just want a good hole shot for the activites (wake surfing and boarding). Don't have to go mach 1.

That is fine put a 1237 on the boat for the prop which I can help you obtain one and you will have no problems for surfing and boarding.www.automarinecare.com CWB, ACME, FlyHigh, Merc Marine, PCM, Marine-power, WETSOUNDS, HSE Volume Controls, Kicker, Sony, Samson Sports, and many other marine parts or accessory's.

Thank you guys very much for your replies. I am new to the Tige world...well actually not even in the Tige world yet but looking very hard to find just the right boat in the right price range. Have a friend that intoduced me to the 20v and it is great. He had a 335 in it and it really moves. But I wasn't sure if the 335 would be enough for a 24v. I am moving from an I/O to the V drive and so I wasn't sure what would be right.
Thanks again guys. Looking forward to posting some pics here one day with the new used Tige.
P.S. I have been reading about different boats on here, but if someone had something bad to say about the 2004 24v I would be all ears. I am expecting to do all the pulling activities with this boat including some slalom but realize it's pushing the slalom curve just a little. But for someone that is used to an I/O for wake, I figure I should be able to get used to the wake of a 24v for the few runs of slalom. Been looking at 22v's vs a 24v. Seems the consensis is bigger is better as long as you have a place to store the 24v.

335hp is plenty because the ft-lbs of torque generated between 1000-2000 rpms from the 5.7 v8 come in very handy. You'll first notice the LACK of nose rise on the hole shot vs on an inboard versus an I/O. It just grunts and goes on plane. Obviously a 20v will grunt faster, but 24 will be fine.
Sure an I/O can go faster since you can trim the drive out, but frankly 30mph on a low slung tow-boat feels plenty fast. You won't miss the extra speed
