    Speedo, no worko.

I just bought a 2004 Switch i with 150 hours on it. The speedo doesn't work. When I turn on the accy lights, the speedo doesn't light up. I was thinking maybe a fuse or something, but I can't find the fuse block to check.

    1. What do you think could be the problem?
    2. Where is the fuse block?

    Thanks!

If the other guages are lit its not a circut breaker , check the bulb and connections on back of guage , the wires come loose with age.

On my 06, not sure if they are the same, there are 2 arrow buttons on the bottom, they control the level of brightness for the tach and speedo
      Hope this helps

Thanks guys. Just to clarify, the speedo doesn't work at all, not just the light. Where is the fuse bus by the way? I'll check the wires could the guage be bad?

Check the wiring on the back, the nuts that hold it tight can and will work loose with the vibrations of a boat.

Don't know if it is the same as my 04 21 i, but the fuses are on the right hand side of the dash. You should be able to trace wires on the back of the dash to see which one goes to your speedo.

My paddle wheel is connected by a break away that sometimes gets knocked by the trailer. When I snap it back together the speedo works again, maybe you have something similar?

I have the same issue on my boat - all other gauges and computer functions operate correctly except speedo - took it to the dealer and they said that the triducer (which explained to me was the cable that runs back to the pickup wheel) needed replacement. They said it also monitored other functions like water temp, etc. Estimated cost of repair = $500....so no speedo for now. Hoping to find someone out there that has DIY.

You can buy a new airmar triducer for about $50 from an airmar dealer. I think I ordered mine from somewhere in NC.

Hey Dogbert, thanks for the info! Just to clarify (cuz I'm an idiot), is the triducer the entire assembly that houses the pickup wheel on the exterior of the boat? Would I also need to replace the wiring/cable from the dash as well? Is this a fairly esdy/simple DIY? I just replaced my steering cable and that wasn't too difficult.
