I own a 2003 22vre and have had nothing but troubles. My dealer has been great fixing my problems and even bailed me out after hours on Memorial Day stranded! When my boat is up and running I love it...I'm in the heart of Mastercraft and Supra country (Knoxville) and have tested everything...I keep coming back to Tige...however my patience is running thin. I'm considering an '05 22rv...any thoughts of those who own one, thanks.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the 03. I have an 05 22v (traded up from an 03 22v, last year) and have had nothing but good things to say. I have had some minor electrical issues, stereo quit a couple times, horn quit, mostly due to grounding, but we got that all worked out pretty quickly.
As far as quality, I think Tige' greatly improved from 03 to 05, from an interior standpoint at least. It just seems the vinyl is thicker, and more plush (maybe just me).
Mechanically, we didn't have any troubles with our 03 and have had none so far with the 05. But we are still having issues with the fuel gauge not reading correctly (can't miss a chance to mention that!!). But it is more accuate on this 05, than on our 03.
I the 05 towers are stronger than any tower I have seen, and I think they look better than most.
Oh, the only other thing I can think of is the onboard cooler drain leaks, so I gotta work that out.
If you have any specific questions, I will be more than happy to answer.
BTW we have the MPI 340 hp.Last edited by Tequilasun; 06-23-2005, 01:34 PM."I want to know God's thoughts, the rest are just details"

Don't forget the Malibu plant and Moomba's made in the Knoxville area!
raythompson and I both bought our 05 22V's from SeaRay of Knoxville around the same time. I can't speak for Ray but I am extremely pleased with mine. The guys at SeaRay of Knoxville do a great job as well, especially Terry and Brent. From everything I've read on this and other sites, anyone using a boat is going to have some issues here and there. What makes the difference are a dealer and manufacturer that work to make things right.

I think the tower is an issue. I have seen two top decks cracked. I assume it is because of the taller tower. Also, the thing needs to lay down easier for those of us that go under bridges to get to good water. The tower is my biggest complaint on the 05...

I agree the tower doesn't fold easily.
As far as it being tall, I love that, it's over 7 feet off the floor!! That gets the bimini up to about 6'4", Since I'm 6'3" that makes it real nice for me, not having to squat under the bimini all the time.
Where have the top decks cracked? Was it a gel coat crack? I haven't seen that yet, but I'll keep my eye out."I want to know God's thoughts, the rest are just details"

All manufactured systems the size of a boat are going to have problems. That is where the dealer comes into play and can make or break a product. Sea Ray has done, and will continue to do, a good job.
You will not be dissappointed with Sea Ray of Knoxville. I also highly recommend Fox Toyota if you are purchasing or servicing a Toyota product.Ray Thompson

2005 22vre
Thanks, for the input. I agree, SeaRay has been great with service. My boat is at Concord Marine, so that is where I boat the most, and yes have replaced two props out there. I do have a trailer so I like to go everywhere...I'll be on Watts Bar over the 4th.
SeaRay will get one of thier last 05 22vre (the one im considering) in a couple of weeks before the 06's come in mid Aug.

I just had to have a prop repaired by Wes's Prop Shop as I managed to find another spot of shallow water. Managed to bend one of the tips.
I will probably be on Watts bar over the July 4th weekend. I usually boat on the Little Emory and Watts bar in the Kingston area. But over the 4th we may go camping on Gillispie Island which is down by Watts Bar damn just past Sand Island.
Ladd Landing in Kingston is a really nice lauch area and it is just a short hop to the Little Emory. The water is warmer and much calmer.Ray Thompson
