What are the 2 dipsticks on the v drive (98 2200V)

So I've been checking the red handled dipstick near the engine and it's been pretty good. Today I noticed another one under the rear middle seat. That one is pretty low. Is one for the transmission and the other for the vdrive gear box? Where do I fill them up? What fluid should I put in them? Thanks

One should be the transmission and one is the v-drive. I cannot help you about the fluid in that model though.

you can use the same dipstick hole to fill, small funnel helps. Check an see what type of lubricant is in there. It could be engine oil or ATF. If its red its ATF. Contact the transmission/v-drive manufacturer for proper lubricant and make sure to have the model number available. Or check the manual if you have one.

The red one next to the engine is your transmission. I assume ATF but without seeing yours hard to say. My boat has a tag there that says ATF only. The next dipstick forward is your vdrive. I have a 24v and have to remove the rear seat to access the dipstick with out bending it. Assuming you have a Walter vdrive you can review the owners manual found on the tige'owners site under "downloads". Walter drives use SAE 30 heavy duty non-detergent motor oil. Also should change the gearbox oil each season or 500 hours which ever comes first according to the manual. Good luck!
