    Advice on 2004 24v

Ok... we bought a 2004 24V off of eBay. Boat was in Florida, we had it towed to Texas. Put it on the water and it doesn't run well and it won't go over 10mph. Took it into the Ski Dock in Austin and they've been very accommodating to do some troubleshooting and came back with the alternator needs replaced and the distributor needs replaced. Had no idea how many hours but they checked the ECM and there are only 100 hours on the engine. They're going to do a compression check just to verify the engine is good. Otherwise the boat is clean, appears to be well taken care of and hopefully these are the only issues. Seller is offering to cut a check to cover the cost of doing the alternator and distributor and tune up, or buy it back. I'm leaning towards taking his check and keeping the boat but I'm looking for some outside thoughts on this.

    Thanks guys!

All depends on the purchase price. If it was a smoking deal go for it. It sounds like your dealer is taking care of you and if they give it a clean bill of health you should have some great years with it.

      OK. Compression test is done

      1.170
      2.175
      3.160
      4.170
      5.175
      6.175
      7.170
      8.160

Which based on what I've see...appears to be fine? As they're all within 10% of the max?

The service manager didn't really give me any advice and told me he'd give me options tomorrow?

The Ski Doc has a pretty good rep. If they give it a clean bill of health you should be good.
