    2001 23v Wake vs 2002s thru 2004s

Can someone shed some light on the big differences between the 2001 23v and say a 2003 21v or 2004 22v? I know the size and weights and all but what about the different hull designs and clean vs dirty wakes and having to use lots of ballast vs not having to use much ballast? And anyone have an opinion on hours on a boat - how many are too many? Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a 2002 23v which is the same hull as an 01. Last year we would put around 2000-2500 pounds for wakeboarding and the wake was decent, but the spray pockets at the end of the boat, would make the wake rollover and lose the lip of the wake. This winter I had them filled in (http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...=spray+pockets ).

It made a huge difference in the wake. Now I have 3300lbs of ballast and the wake is rock solid and huge, with a perfect lip. So basically with the spray pockets you won't have as clean a wake as the newer hull designs of 03 and above.

As far as ballast weight, the longer boat is going to take more weight to get bigger because there is more surface area that needs to be sunk.

And for hours, I've always been told with good maintenance a marine motor should last to about 2000hrs so for the average boater putting 50-100hrs a year on their boat, it should last a while.
