I've seen way worse on those things. I've always wondered what the point of riding a tube is if you never get to the point where you are thrown off. You're daggon skippy, that's what I plan on doing! I'll even wear the infamous watersports helmet if I have to

Oh yeah, there is great reason. I'm thinking that is what would make them really fun, especially if you have a proper respect for it. I like p-dog's idea of using the throttle to help control the tube.
