    HELP!!!!

Hey guys I need some quick help... I got a week before I go to vacation and my TAPS switch on the throttle knob is broke. What happened was the set screw to hold the actual throttle lever on came undone and fell pretty much off and snapped the TAPS wire inside the throttle lever. HOW IN THE WORLD do I get the whole throttle lever off? I need to re-run a new wire or at least re- attach it for vacation. Anybody ever have this happen??

Also the knob is stripped off so I can't get it to stay on the throttle lever. Where can I get a replacement knob? One that has a slot for the Tige TAPS switch.

Its been a frustrating ordeal.... I hope someone can help !!!

Is there a screw at the base of the lever assembly?

          What boat do you have?

Did all the wires break or just one?
On my boat, the taps switch is just snapped into place. Use a small flat screw driver (like the one you would use to adjust a sprinkler head) and gently apply a little pressure under one end of the switch frame. It should pop out. Once out, if all the wires broke, you should be able to use a stiff wire to fish through the throttle. Make sure that your new wires are long enough so that you can make the splice easily.

all three wires were broken.... I have a 2001 Tige 20i... Yes there is a set screw at the base and that came loose which was the cause of the problem because it allowed the throttle lever to come off its gears and just fall.... which the significant rotation cut the wires inside the lever... NOW HOW DO I GET THAT WIRE OUT AND FIXED??
