    Fuel Delivery Issue?- Help Appreciated

I took my Tige 21i out yesterday for the first time in almost a month and had some problems with it running inconsistently. It seemed like it was a blockage in the fuel filter or something similar because it would run fine for 30 seconds and then drop way back for a few seconds before resuming normal acceleration. It did this at all speeds. But here is the odd thing: When I put it in neutral, and ran up the rpms, it purred like a kitten.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Tigedane

I've read on this forum (somewhere) that some of the early/mid 2000 Tiges had issues with the fuel line off the tank being pinched. If I remember right it was almost as if the tank were moving a little under acceleration and pinching the fuel hose, starving the motor. They had the exact same symptom's as you.

I had a similar problem with my 1997 2150i. I ended up replacing the fuel pump and fixed my problem.
If its not fun, Why do it?

Thanks for the feedback/info. It was a rather bumpy day so I had everybody in the back to keep water from coming over the bow. I wonder if the tank was putting pressure on a hose when the nose was up. I will check it out on a calm day.

Sounds stupid, but check all your wiring. A loose or corroded wire going into the fuel pump can cause these intermittant issues. Just got over this problem.
