My younger kids like riding on a tube behind my 22i. I have been using the tower to tow them on the tube because it is a little easier to get the tube to them when they are in the water. But I started wondering if it is too much weight or drag for the tower. Any thoughts?

Get them surfing...or wakeboarding...... just please stop the tubing haha.
But if you must continue tubing, i agree with what they say up there ^
Eye hook from transom if you can, otherwise use the ski pylon.
When I am absolutely forced to bring the tube (I hide it in the garage) I use the ski pylon. Last time I had to bring it was like 3 years ago haha.Joey - Red 20V Riders Edition

Don't use tower and depending on weight and tubes pylon is questionable. If it is like mine and not bolted to stringers then use a harness off of the stern hooks. Is weird and Tige is an exception but better the stern hooks verse cracked gelcoat.
I have gotten funny looks from other inboard owners regarding the ski pylon but what is a Tige owner to do?Last edited by MoneyPity; 07-06-2010, 06:28 AM.

I really hadn't thought about this before. I just pull from the tower since it keeps the rope out of the wash and lets the tube move freely. I only tow my young kids, so there's not a lot of force. I assume the alpha z was sturdy enough for tubing...am I wrong? Or is it some safety issue???

I think the issues are different with the Alpha Z tower. Both the dealer and a Tige rep told me to tow a tube off the tower because it was bullet proof. Will that translate to warranty coverage? Probably not.
The pansy pylon is a joke. And the D rings are under the swim platform and underwater.
Would I tow a 5 person monster tube of the Alpha Z? No. But I do not hesitate to pull our double tube.
(Maybe I should start hiding the tube too)
