    What spare tire to get?

I need to get a spare tire for a few road trips this summer.

Does your spare tire match the other 4 on the trailer or is it a cheap galvanized wheel & tire that you hope never gets used?

Mine matches... but that is me.

It is your preference I'd think, but make sure all the sizes match up.

Mine matches and the good thing is when I blow one I can just swap it out and throw it in the back of the truck and head to the tire shop. Then just mount the new tire as my spare rather than having to switch them back. If you have a good tire shop and depending on what your wheels look like, your tire guy might be able to find you a matching used wheel. But the new ones that match mine are only $50 or $60 so it might not be worth the wait for you.

2 Chrome Wheels, one white spare. I throw the spare in the back of the truck, so I don't care what it looks like.

Make sure if you have Radials on your trailer, your spare is a radial, not a bias ply.
The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.

All mine match also. I have Carlye Tires which will need replacing of at least 4 next spring. 5+ years on trailer tires and it is time to think of replacing because of sitting they develop flat spots over the winter which lead to blow outs. Staying away from Goodyear Marathons. Had bad luck with them on previous trailer.

I am going to order a matching 5th. I called Jerry @ Boatmate and he will also make sure I get the exact rim that matches the other 4 plus paint the mounting bracket to match my trailer color, after I provide the VIN#. I thought that was pretty cool, even though my trailer is black, it shouldn't be that hard. More great customer service!

                        Dave,
could you pm what your cost is going to be. I am looking at getting a matching spare and got a high quote, but it sounds like going through boatmate is the way to go. We have the same set up so that would be great. hope all is well
