Even if there are no codes they can look at the pps and watch and see if it drops votage momentarly, we have found that the lever on the shifter gets worn and makes the pps drop voltage when going from neutral to any gear, if it drops it will go to limp mode.
The lever is adjustable, but needs to be adjusted with a volt meter hooked up.

What dom is referring to there is the potentiometer, which is what I referenced you to earlier. Apparently this problem is popping up alot lately. Pretty simple deal if the tech is competent at all!

my 07 21i did a similar thing but i found out that my speed wasnt registern so we put a new paddle wheel on and also fixed the knock sensors on both sides of the engine and everything has been working fine.hope this helps.

          Dom,
Can the PPS be accessed for adjustment without having to remove the shift lever assy? Adjust to the values in the GM MEFI 5 diagnostics manual? (the 286 page monster?) Are you generally finding adjustment is the cause rather than a faulty PPS?
          Thanks!

There is an adjustment but it's minor, and in most the situations the PPS is actually going bad. You can hook a volt meter up and watch for the swing as you depress and pull back the throttle. I can't remember the values, which I'm Dom can help you with this. But I remember right, the one contact point won't even budge past 0 if it's dead.

                Rick,

Can you forward me those instructions from Marine Power? Or post them? I have the same issue on my '07 22Ve. I will PM my e-mail.
                Thanks!

                    THROTTLE CALIBRATION-TIGE 06

Review the attached print.* Note the throttle control module connector A.* Using a digital voltmeter with the engine at idle measure voltage between G(white) and J(black).* Reading should be 5.0V.* Then measure between F(blue) and J(black).* Reading should be .95-1.0V.* Measure from the back side of the connector as it must be plugged into the TAC module.* If the second reading is out of range, the potentiometer on the throttle apparatus must be adjusted slightly.
