After running the boat and then parking it for awhile. I start the boat and the boat will stutter for a few minutes. Can someone explain to me what is causing this? It seems to be getting worse also. Today I was out and after sitting for about an hour and started it the boat actually died after stuttering for about 2 mins. The boat had 32 hours on it when I bought it and now has about 64 hours on it. I am speculating that the fuel is getting hot but I could be wrong. I am going to change the fuel filter and see if that helps. If anyone else has any other ideas what could be causing this please let me know.

Sounds like vapor lock. For some reason it seams this is happening to a lot of people this year. Mine has been doing it also. I run the blower and open the hatch before starting if we have been setting for a while, and that seems to help. -
Thats what I had to do after it died, cause it would not stay running until it cooled for a bit. Is there anything that I could do to prevent the motor from vapor locking? Another thing that happen after I did get the motor running is I had a message in my lcd window staying ecu error unable to read after 25 seconds or something like that. I had no indication of anything when that error came up including my fuel level. I shut the engine off and then restarted it and everything was fine then.Comment

Inline Fuel Filter
This was happening to me as well last year. When the annual maintenance was completed we changed the inline fuel filter as well as the normal fuel filter....the problem was solved. It was a little grey cylinder mounted underneath the engine on the driver side.Comment

For all the the vapor lock issues possibly try to wrap some of this thermo-shield tape around the fuel rail and lines on the top of the engine. Should help a bit.

If not, try to find a gas station that doesnt use an ethanol blend. Which can be equally as effective.Bad decisions make good stories.Comment
