    Part way through the install and it calls for the use of sealant for the screws that hold on the tips. I have 3M 5200 but am not sure if I should use that or a generic silicone caulk. What did you guys use...

    use the 3m. You will be better off. It should last longer anyways. I used a 3m silicone, can't remember the number. sorry.

      Isn't the 5200 permanent? If so I would use the semi-permanent one.

        Yes...it is permanent. 5200 lbs per square foot. Removing items with 5200 means gel coat removal. Don't use 4200 or 5200....use conventional 3m marine sealant only. Clean with denatured alcohol.
