Anyone use Boat Buddy I of II?

Friend of mine with an X-2 recommended I put a Boat Buddy on my trailer for my 2009 RZ2, anyone else use it? Pros or cons? He says most negative reviews are from people using too much power to power up the trailer, its more of a finesse maneuver. I read on some centurion forums that it doesn't work on some bow angles, just looking to see if it fits our trailers.

here is a link to the Boat Buddy at Cabellas:

or just search on google for boat buddy...

Its nice but they really do take a lot of beating and the pins get bent easily.

yeah there pretty cool when they work....most of the ones that come our shop are beat and dont work worth a ****. More of a pain in the butt than anything. Its a love-hate thing I guess.

Thanks for the replies, sounds like its too good to be true for just $100. Too bad they don't make a stronger version that can take some abuse. I guess I'll try it and be careful with it, my friend who reccomended it had it for about 6 years on his boat with no problems, his boat is smaller though. If it breaks I can always go back to the OEM urethane bow roller.

Its most likely just getting it down how to use it without damaging it. Once you ge the hang of it your golden. But alot of the ones that come in are hammered dog doo when I try to use them so I may not be giving it a fair shake. good luck with it.

I had one on my Toyota X22 and loved it! I am actually thinking of getting one for our 08 RZ2. It worked great for the 4 years I had the boat. My wife would back the trailer into the water I would drive the boat on. She would not leave the truck and we would be out of there in 1 minute or less. People were amazed at how fast we were.
            I would say get one!

I must be a world class moron. Am I the ONLY person who can not drive the boat onto the trailer to save my life????
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I'm with you. I always winch mine up. I already ruined one prop, a trailer bunk, and some gel coat. All the ramps I use a re pretty steap so if you have the trailer in deap enough to get the boat all the way on, the bunks are too deep in the water. I just put it in shallow so that the boat gets on the back of the bunks and then winch it in.

I winch on also, I might as well since I go and get the truck/trailer and back them down the ramp
My crew does not want to learn how to back the trailer down to the dock
