    Annual Maintenance Questions

I am sure there is a thread on here somewhere regarding this, if so can you point me there?

If not, I am thinking of doing the annual service myself minus the impeller. Does anyone else do this? Does anyone have a checklist of what to complete other than changing the oil?

Impeller question, can you get away with changing this every other season?

    Thanks in advance.

I change the impeller every year, break one and ruin a weekend and you will too. It's cheap insurance. But also if you use it year round you don't need to. It's the sitting not in use that destroys it.

I would always change oil, impeller and grease the joints and that's all I did every year. Changed the fuel filter and water seperate every other. but also it all depends how many hours you use your boat.

i didn't have any i'm sorry. I Just took the belt off, disconnected the tubes going to the pump, there was 3 bolts, took those out and then took the 6 small bolts out of the impeller housing.

Sorry about not having any steps or anything. I'm the kind of person that takes it a part and then puts it back together....

I think there is a Merc sticky thread in the how-to section.
