Can you freeride on a skurfer???

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience on an old-school skurfer. I am evidently of a newer generation. Were these things designed to be pulled at the end of a ski rope? Can you use them on a surf wake sans rope? I saw one on Craigslist and an intrigued.

And that was classic. Kelly Slater was later photographed doing the same thing later.

Skurfer was the prequel to the wakeboard. Pulled on the end of a rope.

Then again, if you saw that Vukii video, apparently some people think a surfboard should be constantly pulled at the end of a rope, too.

Not sure of the item that is being sold. But some people reference a surfboard as a skurf board (essentially its an old beat up shortboard). A real skurf board is a directional tri-finned wakeboard.

I have one but never tried it. One of these days I should do it just for fun

Ive tried I bunch of time and was never able to get a freeride. The problem I found was that it just didn't have a tail wide enough to get the push needed to freeride. just for you guys ill get it out today and take it with me and take some video
I'm going old school- I'm bring back the SKURFER!!!!!!

Wall, you probably saw the one I have listed. I have never tried to surf it, but I'll tell you what. I'll bring it with me to Norris for the reunion and let you have a go at it if it doesn't sell before then.

That is so funny. It is exactly the one you have listed. I saw that it was listed as cold spring and is caught my attention, because I attend class at Chase Law. Please do bring that to the reunion. I'm planing on being there. I'll probably be way to heavy to accomplish the feat, but it will still be fun trying.
