I use this anchor, it's for a 35' boat but it's light, I have about 15' of chain and up to 200' of line, it can hold in mud, sand and even rock. It's definitely overkill for my size boat but I used to have a bigger boat and it does very well. The anchor in a box looks very promising as well.

I finally just picked up a small box anchor last weekend. I had been using a Danforth for many years.
Danforth for years also. Mud,Sand, Rocks it has held well with all of them. We also tie up to the beach to a tree or use a beach stake. We always try to point the bow into the wind blown waves. Ewoks picture is very similar to my Danforth.
We got ours from westmarine also. MY wife used Bing cash back and Mr Rebates to get the price down to $114. She ordered it and it was ready to pick up in their store four days later.
I have been using an anchor buddy for a long time and that is the only way to go in shallow depths, I just hook it up to the anchor with no rope. Years ago I had a guy at my work heat up and bend a manhole puller to make a sand spike and it works great.

Have a danforth, works well, but heavy and a PITA to store up in the front starbord area. Considering a box anchor specifically for that reason.
I am amazed seeing boats drift/float while by "at anchor" on windy days. Sunday my wife kept asking if we were floating closer to a Mastercraft in front of us. Then I saw their owner pull up his mushroom anchor and cast it out a few feet to try to stop the floating.
