Thanks Lucky!!! That hull is MUCH thicker than the BU. ... Now I just need to upgrade. It's kinda hard surfing behind the 20i. It is better than other direct drives I have tried, but still not like a V. Think I'm going to upgrade to the 22V.

the 22v definately has a nice surfwake, when weighted.

          The thread that won't quit......

After months of homework, test drives, boat shows, and more test drives, I have finally bought a new boat. I pulled the trigger on a Malibu 247 today. I had been comparing the 24 Ve to the Malibu 23 LSV however, after the boat show, I felt the 247 was the better Malibu. After driving it today, I am convinced that it fits all my boating needs, and then some.
I really wanted to buy another Tige, I have had a great experience with the company, Tige of Corona, their service dept.and have had no problems with my 98 22i.
I did not buy another Tige because they dropped the ball on the interior and ammenities that I feel should be in a $60k plus boat. I share a lot of johnbandrews feelings with regards to the two boats so I wont go into detail, just read his remarks. Yes, I know Tige's "own" chop and rough water, but the 247 handled it really well and besides this is a wakeboard boat remember? I am not driving all day in the middle of a channel looking for the biggest swell to plow through, I am usually in a cove riding glass (hopefully), or chilling out in a cove with the tunes on.

I am posting this because I hope someone at Tige takes this to heart and makes some improvements and gives us a more refined product. If so, I will be back to buy from them again.

I wanted to say thanks to wrangler and johnb for their imput, as well as the others who provided some great information.

            Nickypoo,

It's been a while since I read this thread. About four pages back you said legroom was lacking in the Tige. You must be nuts! I went to the Las Vegas boat show and walked back and forth fromt the Tige's to the Malibus. The Malibu driver's seat is too low to the floor and the leg room is significantly less. Being tall, leg room is a sensitive issue for me.

The Malibu benches (even in the 247) feel like they are a solid 2-3 inches lower to the floor as well. The Malibu driver's seat was very uncomfortable in general. It wrapped all of the way around me and was actually too tight on my hips. I have a 38 inch waist. Fat people will definitely not like that driver's seat in the Malibu.
            Be excellent to one another.

Well, there you go, I'm not fat. At least least not overly. I would have to disagree with you but just because of the fact these are opinions. You are bit taller than most boaters out there ( and a smidge wider). For that reason I could see why you fit better in a minivan type set up. Me, I love the sports car feel of the Malibu helm. When I talk of leg room, I'm talking straight out ahead of you leg room. God blessed me with long legs and short arms (relatively), so a deep footwell goes a long way for me.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Dan...Congrats on pulling the trigger on the 247. I know you will be completely happy with the new boat and have many great outings with your family... John Andrews just took delivery of his new 247...it's a great looking ride and I has have said many times on this and other threads...you won't go too far wrong with either the Tige or the Malibu... Congrats again and post some pictures when you get your new boat!!!

Thanks, as you can imagine, I am counting the days until delivery. And this summer time weather is not helping things!!

I will post pictures when they are available. And to rushin, don't worry, it's not a black and red color scheme. (Although it does look great on that boat) And no illusion tower or blade.

This has been a fun process and I have learned a lot, hopefully others have as well.

I don't care if you have a Tige, Malibu, MC, CC, etc, we are all out there for the same reason, to have a good time. We will be in Havasu and Mead all summer, feel free to tie up and have a cold one anytime.

guess I'm just a trend setter... ordered mine in '04 and was told that it was one of the first 22vs like that. But, you're right there ARE quite a few boats rolling out w/ red n black lately. I'm actually thinking of a blue and black vé this year, but we'll see.
