    Now I get it!

Soooo that's why there are no cupholders or speakers there.

    It's full of fiberglass

All of the stuff you guys are debating is exactly what my wife and I talked through when we bought ours. Cupholders at the floor or recessed into the gunwales. It is just a matter of time before one of our dear teenagers spills something...or me for that matter... Better on the floor or recessed into the side of the boat and seat? You make the call. More room side to side or wider seats? Molded in seat bases that will never work loose or screwed down seat bases that do give you easier access...but will work loose over time... Again, you make the call... It's all compromise one way or another... We really like our 24Ve and so far it has been very usable. Not hard to get stuff in and out etc... The Bu seats would be easier to stow a board under...but mine will never come loose...

I'm hearin' ya brotha. All good points. There's no doubt you've got one sick ride. However ( I know, there that evil word again), things can always be improved upon.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I like what Tige has done with the interior. It is something different and it is pleasing to the eye (my eye). I cannot comment on the functionality because I have never been in on of the '05 and on boats. I would be concerned about the permanant portion of the interior. What happens if you get a small tear? Do you have to replace the entire section? I think individual cushions are still the way to go...

One thing I would wish for is upgraded upholstery. I would love to see Tige drop some 38oz vinyl into their boats. There is such huge difference between the way a Malibu or Supra feel (both 38oz) to the Tige (34oz). The Tige vinyl almost feels fragile...

Are you kidding me with that transom??? Sweet mother that is built! TBarrett, how thick is that? It looks like the Malibu transom is as thick as the Tige interior speaker cut-outs...

              Zacky,

We are attaching our upholstery to the fiberglass structure in sections. Malibu is attaching their upholstery in sections to seat bases that are screwed into the floor and the top portion of the top deck. The different feel of the upholstery is probably due to the difference in the foam density. I agree that our seats feel firm compared to some of our competitors but we feel that is to a consumers advantage in the harsh usage of a boat involved in water sports. We are a company that listens and we do appreciate your voice.

I have not measured our transom thickness but I thought the exact same thing when I saw the Malibu transom. It looks like our top deck cup holder cut out. It would not be difficult argue effectively on which boat would be better built. Fluff doesn't handle 2-3 foot swells like you will find on Mead and Powell. I give Tige high marks on substance. I have to give Malibu high marks on fluff.

When I am on the lake, I use my boat hard. The last thing I am worried about is the build quality of my Tige Hull, it is built to last a lifetime ... After comparing the pictures of the Tige transom with the BU, I'm not even sure if I want take a ride in a BU ... at least not without my PFD close at hand!

You can keep the fluff ... I'll keep my Tige!

                  tbarrett,

I would like to see some build pics of a 20i sometime. Mainly some of the stages before the upholstry is installed.

can you see any images in the galleries?

tbarrett, It is clear that Tige is a company that listens. Looking at your pictures reminds me of one minor suggestion. I am not sure about the '06 boats but on my '04, Tige attached a carpet base around the fiberglass seat base or where the top deck meets the floor. I've noticed on older Tige boats that carpet base was not installed. My preference would be to leave it off. The look is cleaner with fiberglass down to the floor and the method of attaching the carpet base is pretty flimsy. I know that it is a pretty minor detail, but I think would be a small improvement.

See ya at the show in a couple of days.

Lucky, I just went to the galleries page, and can see pics. Which gallery should I go to, to see the pics posted by tbarrett (Or similar pics). I found the one, that has the pics of the 24Ve, but that didn't have any pics of the manufacturing process.

I am on a work computer, so that may be why I can't see the pics in the original post. We have so much restriction on what will make it into our network. (I work for the Ca DOJ).
