Bare in mind that a non ballasted Tige with trim in wakeboard mode is equivalant of about 500 t0 900 lbs of ballast, so techically when ballasted and trimed for wake board you have more boat in the water the same as some other boats that have to add more to get the same effect.
Did that make sense?

Opinions are like ......., everyone has one. It has been said many times but for sake of redundancy you need to ride behind both.

Remember many years ago the old Smokey the Bear comercial, "Only you can put out Forest Fires" or something to that affect.

Well only you and your crew can really decide on which you like better.

I have my own preference and resulting opinion. But TO taught me something. IMO keep my opinion to myself and suggest like someone else did somehow you should ride behind each, determine which you can afford and what will meet your needs and make you happy for 5-10 years unless you have a virtual wallet.

Fit, finish, ride and wake all come into play. Only you can........

I love my dinky Tige 20V but I don't surf or wake board. I have my Tige concerns as others I am sure have their BU concerns.

Good news IMO is they are both Nice Rides. good luck.

I did say it was my own opinion, but i am a dealer, and we get quite a bit of centurions in, and i currently have one for sale, that has over 800 hrs on it, that i use all the time. Its not a bad boat, it just is not (in my opinion) anywhere near the quality of a Tige and a Malibu. The performance of the b00000000000oat is way less quality the Tige/BU, not the wake the boat. As i said they are known for there surf wake.

P.S. - they are a super pain to work on.

I am not trying to be a rabble rouser but with various posts I have seen on T.O. the interior issues, steering Cable issues are among some concerns I have with Tige.

I remember seeing a post where the front nose on an RZ fell apart due to a glitch in manufacturing.

I love my 20V but I do have concerns with items failing in three years or less that should not fail that fast unless people just don't care about their boats which I doubt is the case.

Tige is a very good boat ,but, fit and finish along with mechanical issues just bother me. Small things like on my boat the negative cable not being crimped which I have seen happen to others on TO. To me Tige is just below quality of Mastercraft and Malibu and maybe Supra, I have looked at Centurion but cannot state an opinion on it.

Yesterday my BIL checked into hinge seat bases and priced a 20V and sticker shock of $52K plus trailer and covers. Talk about wow !! The good thing is he is contemplating mine and dealing with my sister. For some reason he got MSRP numbers.

I don't mean to rant because I think that what I paid for mine was a good price for that boat. If I am to break the $55k bucket price the a dufferent set of criteria is warranted.

I still feel the Malibu is a tank to corner with the wedge down and kills you on fuel.

I show my unbiased opinion and say that I will agree with that, but why are you cornering with the wedge down? Also I admit that I only put the wedge down for "good" riders because otherwise I am just wasting fuel.

I only experience the sluggishness when their is more than 2000# in the boat and are speed is set at 24 mph and we are turning to get back in our line and sometimes when driving a tight double up. But never experience this when surfing, probably because we never are cornering while under throttle.

Also moving from the stock 537 prop to the 1235 made a huge difference in handling when weighted.

We had the Tige RZ2 at the festival weighted for the photoshoot, tanks full and like 800 lbs of lead on one side. There were only 3 150lb riders in the boat, sometimes 2. So it was weighted the most during these sessions. And the thing still could plane head out to another location on the lake without issue. It had the STOCK prop, which I believe is the 537. My 24Ve will cavitate pretty bad in those situations, until I wen to the 1235 prop.

I am making an assumption that the 24ve and RZ4 hull are virtually the same as far as hull making wake goes, and I can easily say that it is much easier to make a great wake on the RZ2, as all of our video shows. The wake on my VE is no slouch, and due to the deck, is cleaner than any I have seen, but the RZ2 wake was better, more push, and nicer lip, and even longer pocket, than my 24Ve. My guess is that the 22Ve would be about the same as the RZ2, and that the RZ4 would be like the 24Ve.

I just had a guy from wakeworld on my boat last weekend, we are always hosting people. His daughter is 13 and she has one of our groms, we taught her how to ride. He said to me, "Thanks so much for taking us out, my daughter has only ridden ONE time since you taught her last June. No one we ride with will put out a goofy wake." Now I know that there are other boats out there that DO put out wakes on both sides, but I have to switches on the dash, none of it stock, and I fill or empty on either side. I am setup regular for him, and hit the switches, throw the kids out to swim for 15 minutes, and we are ready to go on the goofy side. No lead, no sacs on the seats or in view, and no manual pumps. You can't beat that for the best wakesurfing recreation out there, and the Tige is a rare boat that does that so easily, the wakes are virtually identical on either side, and the SAME amount of weight is used. Now add to that, we only use 3-4 GPH when wakesurfing, because we are not towing a steel wedge through the water.

Seriously, I am in a fortunate place that I can afford just about any boat, and have seen just about all first hand. Now, with wake9, we could probably cut an incredible deal for many different types of boats. We chose Tige for the incredibly versatile wake, and we already loved the rest of the boat.

The 2010 is an incredible platform for ballast. We are going to do some R&D to replace the smaller top sac, with custom locker sacks, that will hold hopefully at least 1000 lbs. They will plumb into the system, so no additional pumps or anything. You need the pro or surf ballast to do this, but it is an incredible stock platform to start playing with. Even the tige touch will adjust to this. The fill and drain interface on the screen are TIMER based. And there is a setup screen on the system, where you can adjust the timers to whatever you need. So put in bigger sacs, adjust the timers, and your interface still works.

Can't wait.

im not sure if anyone has made this point yet but, i hope your tall because the bow rise on a 247 with wedge down and full surf ballast is borderline ridiculous.. i regularly ride on an 08' 247 wakesetter and i have to stand in the walkthough while driving just so i could see what was in front of me

It's specifically designed for the the RZ2/22Ve boats and will hold about 1K in the port side and a bit less on the starboard side due to the under seat storage being shorter as well as the build it cooler on the RZ2 and the later 22Ve.

I would love it it someone actually measured it. Fill it full, then see how many 5 gal buckets it fill up till empty

On another note, I was out this weekend with my cousin that has an '07(i think) Wakesetter LSV, and was in awe and jealous at the shape and quality of my surf wake with 600 in the starboard corner and 200 in the front. Now, we just need to make it bigger.

At this point, it's looking we will not need to alter the sac shape and size. We are just adding a 4th valve that will line up with the in-floor drain hose pictured above. We are leaving the 2 fittings on top as is as well as the fitting on the back lower edge. I do fell that we may see some draining issue with the surf sac inplace of the factory surf sac, here's why: The factory sac is intended to be folded up along the gunwale, so when this is done, any remaining water will be channeled right to this in-floor fitting. The surf sac will just be left to lay flat in the storage area, and I fell that the location of the factory drain will leave some water in the sac. If it turns out to be excessive, we can cap the 4th fitting, pull the 90 elbow quick-conn off the drain hose, pull the hose from the in-floor channel, and then pop it through the rear bulk-head wall and use a straight quick-conn to attach to the sac's original drain fitting.

Man, what I really need to do is get back into a 2010 and do some additional measurements and take some more pics. Maybe next month at the Norris reunion.

Kinda funny, but Pigdog was here on Saturday afternoon, but only long enough to add a 2nd sub under the helm. It was too hot to do any more, besides he had been on the road for a few hours and still had to make it to ET's that evening.

Hey guys I am new to the forum. My RZ4 rocks!!!! Fill up the surf balast and add a few friends and the wake goes for ever.

Any update on the larger sacks ? Can't always friends when we want to surf so some extra balast would be great !!!
