    Boat Service in TN

I'm looking for a recommendation on where to have my boat serviced/warrantied near Knoxville, TN. I keep my boat on a lift at a marina on Norris Lake, but I bought my boat near Indianapolis. I really don't want to drag my boat all the way to Indy for service and/or warranty.

I called the Tige dealer that comes up on Tige's website for the Knoxville area and they no longer carry Tige's. He said he'd love to service my boat (@$100/hr), but we would need to work something out with Tige for warranty work. I've emailed Tige to see what/who they recommend. I know of some other boat dealers that are closer to the marina and charge less. I'd like to give them a try, but I'm nervous letting just anybody work on my boat.

Basically, does anyone have any experience with any dealers in the area that they would recommend?

        Norris huh?

We are renting a house (with dock) on Norris next week (near Caryville, TN 37714). Putting in at a marina close to the house, Twin Cove Marina http://www.thewillowsattwincove.com/

Are you familiar with that part of the lake?

The dealer is in Dayton, but it is a five hour drive to Norris Lake.

Guapo, I feel you on this. I just dragged mine all the way up to Dayton for 25 hr servicing and a battery charging issue.

That's the stuff I don't want to have to deal with.

Harvey's (from Tige) been in contact with me and will hopefully be able to work something out. I'll let you know what I find.

Sea Ray Boats of Knoxville used to carry Tiges and that is where I bought my boat. I have used them to replace a transom on my old boat and some other work. They have always done a good job. Stuck up for me when I had a problem with my trailer brakes. If you have a Mercruiser engine they will work on your boat.

I have the PCM engine...I'm sure I could still check with them. Harvey and I are playing phone tag right now. I'll update after he and I talk.

We can't seem to ever keep a tige dealer around here. I have used Travis Marine before and was pleased but it was not for a tige.

I'll probably try them since they are the most recent Tige dealer and they service PCM engines. I'm glad you chimed in as I was curious if they provide quality service. Harvey called me back and said they are still "certified" to work with Tige.

This is indicting myself, but I haven't read the warranty for my boat. Harvey said that the warranty is one year for parts and labor and three years for parts (no labor). He couldn't recall the PCM warranty, so I guess I'll look into that this weekend. If this is correct (and I don't see why it's not), I'm out of the warranty period for the labor anyway. He said he will work with whomever I want when it comes to the parts.
