Alpha Z Additional Racks

Has anyone found any racks (surfboard and/or wakeboard) for the Alpha Z tower that mount to the top bar? We'd like to free up one of the side mounts for a foil rack, but don't want to store the boards in the boat (albeit it might be easier than storing the foil in the boat).

2nd Question - has anyone seen or bought a foil rack for the Alpha Z tower? I'm pretty sure I read about or heard about one - just wondering if anyone had advice.

Samson doesn't offer a air chair rack for the new Alpha Z tower, I emailed them last week, they may have a rack for a tube tower.They offer in fork combos of wake,wake, surf,surf & wake,surf for their swing typhoon that fit the new tower.

Dumb question. If you have a surf, wake rack. Any reason you shouldn't put a wake board in a surf board rack when not being used by a surf board?

I have a Samson wake/surf rack. I have put a wakeboard in the surf slot but it bounces around like crazy because the fingers are spaced wide enough for a surf board.

I have done it but usually wrap the center of the wakeboard in a towel first to eliminate the loose space and bouncing.

I just talked to Sky Ski the other day and they make one for the IllusionX tower which is the same as the Alpha Z. He said to take a picture and send it to he to confirm but he is 99% sure it fits the same. I will do that next time I see the boat.

Well, they WERE both made by Metcraft, but hardly the same tower. But then again, the board rack mounting points may be similar.

If you look at Samson's website, they make the same model of rack for wake/surf boards, but in different variations for the different towers. They aren't just the same.

The illusion x Tower is way different then the Alpha Z Tower, and the racks mount way differently also. I am a Tige and Malibu Dealer.

They or you would have to have a custom bracket made to convert that illusion x rack to fit the Alpha Z Tower.

Alpha Z Racks Mount with only one large bolt form the back into the tower, the illusion x tower has one large bolt from the inside through to the rack, and the racks fit flat against the tower. Also if this rack they make is for the illusion XS tower that is even different from the illusion x tower those racks mount the same but have 2 smaller bolts going form the outside threading into the tower, and the racks still mount flat.
