Is there a problem w/ using Leaded Fuel (approx 108 octane racing fuel) in an older boat. There is no ethonal in this fuel. I wouldn't use it straight, I would mix about 1/2 and 1/2 or a little less. What do you guys think?

No issue with the lead itself, as it just act as a lubricant for the top end, but with that high of an octane, it may not run very well. It takes a ton of heat to burn that level of octane.
Sta-Bile makes an additive to combat the side effects of ethanol, I would stick to the correct octane and use a bottle of additive about once a month or so.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

We need to get out on the water, the brick in the front helps my wake a lot. I think I got it dialed in.Dale

I will add that Chptril showed me some trips about how to avoid the waves after the rider goes down and that helped a bunch. The only time it is a problem is if the lake has a lot of people out in the area.Last edited by TRD; 06-11-2010, 12:54 PM.Dale

I have been running about 1000# in the back w/ 3-4 peeps, but we have a guy at work who is about 380# easy. So I ask him if he would come out and be some movable ballast . I learn a good bit that day. Worked great.

Sorry to highjack the thread... I could reply in one of the ballast discussions or PM you.

The problem is lately is if I have 3 big guys in the back corner the water will come in the boat right over the side. This has helped us learn about where to put weight. If the people will sit on the back seat but on the non weighted side it helps the wake out. I just got a new prop this year also.
