Are all of those increases worth the price jump? I guess that is a legitimate question, and pretty much a rephrasing of your question. So, in the end, who knows? I guess the market does.

Boattrader lists them at 75K and the one in California for 68K.

I sort of like this used 09: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...e-RZ2-96960895

Tall, that is an unbelievable price on a sweet boat. That is the kind of boat I was looking for, but I had to take it on the chin for a '10 because we had a narrow set of colors we "had" to have.

The R and D for the Tige touch is probably the big one. Although once the Tige touch is made, it is not anything more complicated than a cell phone. I would like to think once they have recouped their R and D fees, the actual unit will become pretty inexpensive. Heck, the new swim platform is smaller...so that means less fiberglass, right?

Is the Tige Touch an option...or is it automatic on RZs?

You are right on the mark for the 09's when bought new last year...loaded.

Considering the above, I think what he is asking is a good price and if he could be negotiated down to 50...then it would be a great price. Seems pretty loaded and extremely low hours. I like the colors...

If this boat was purchased for 68K which sounds like the going price last year and he sells it for 55K than that would be a $13,000 depreciation in one year. Man does that sting. My 06 22V depreciated $10,000 over the two years of ownership when I sold it in Feb of 08. Does anyone know why the new boats are now depreciating so drastically? What does Nada list this boat with his options?

I added just about every option except ballast and it booked on NADA for low retail at 51K and average at 58K. I even gave it another $940 for fuel injection and $900 for trim tab and trim indicator. Tower speakers gave him $900 also. SO I consider that boat an average to good deal at 55K. 50K would border on smoking, IMHO. The hours are so low and I suspect the boat should be in showroom condition. If the 17 hours on the boat were with weeks tied up to a dock while rollers pounded it, then that is another question.

Carter - I think the recent depreciation of new boats is still due to the massive inventory of unsold new boats that occurred two years ago. I think it has taken so long for dealers & manufacturers to unload all of them, and for such reduced prices, that the overall prices of nearly-new boats is still feeling the hangover.

                  Just my uninformed

Thanks for doing the leg work tall.
So it seems Nada is now saying new boats are depreciating 20% the first year. I wonder what year number two will be?

I'm not sure they are. Theoretically with new boat prices rising (for many reasons), used boats should hold their value better than in years past. Of course with the economy, a lot of folks simply need to liquidate their toys to pay for the necessities...and that's my guess with that "used" blue RZ2...

I am sure that has something to do with it. I have noticed that most all the new 07-08 inventory has been sold six or more months ago. Good deals are really hard to find now.

I agree with you and I hope used boats hold their value. Although Nada is seting the newly used market prices, not just one guy looking to dump his boat. I wonder if the banks are behind this large drop in Nada prices, conspiracy theory?
Boats older than four years seem to be holding their value really well according to Nada.

I think the value also depends on the market. If you want a used RZ2 here in CO, you are either going to pay a premium for a local boat or make a drive because the last one that I saw for sale was an '07 for like $55k or so which is a bargain compared to the price of a new one.

Sorry, Fred, but 77k for a leftover 09 RZ4 is not doing it for me.

LOL! That's probably what he has had it listed for since the beginning! This is our last 2009 in stock...uhhh the 2011's are coming in, aren't they?
