    Tower mount speakers

I just purchased a 2007 Tige 20v. It has the collapsable E series tower. Currently it doesn't have any tower mounted speakers but I'd like to put some on. Is the Tower Pre wired for these?

Also, I believe it has the factory stereo Clarion Marine Head unit with Kicker Marine Speakers. Would you recommend also installing another amp for better performance/power output as well as a second battery?

any help you can provide would be terrific.

    Thanks

For tower speakers you will definitely want to add an amp. Battery addition would be mostly based on how much you would plan on sitting around and playing music.

Send a PM (private message) to user "chpthril" - he can definitely help answer your questions.

Just put some on my 20V and love them. I am running two amps and two batteries. Chpthrl is the man you should talk to.

Congrats and welcome to the tigeowners site!

Pre-wired tower: No, but it can be a DIY job.

Amp: You will definitely want to add a dedicated amp for the tower speakers. Even if your boat currently has an amp powering the cabins, and possibly a sub, you would take a way from the cabins trying to add a pair of tower speakers to th amp.

Battery: I highly recommend a 2nd battery, especially if you want to have some party-cove play time with the engine off. I also like to have them isolated from the main battery so the stereo load doesnt pull it down. The ideal setup is a manual multi-battery switch and and ACR (Auto Combiner Relay). More on this later if needed.

There are tons of options out there depending on ones budget and expectations of a tower setup.

I just had my dealer install tower speakers on my 2008 20i. The tower is not pre-wired. I added a 100amp amplifier to power the speakers. I also added a second battery in case the kids forget to turn the radio off!

That sounds like what I'm looking for?

What did the whole thing cost? and how long did it take them?

For the eSeries tower-what is the diameter of the tower tubes?
