Lake Elsinore or Perris, CA

Was planning on taking a day off midweek.
Which is the better lake? Elsinore or Perris.
Plan on getting on the lake early (7am) for surfing, wake boarding and skiing.
Perris is maybe 15 mins further but thats doesn't bother me.
Anybody have any recommendations?

If that was my only option I would choose elsinore. Definitely got to go early before the crowd and the wind shows up. Gotta love all the dead fish floating around.

I feel like I've gotten better water at Elsinore, but that was 10 years ago when I lived in LA. I'd be more concerned with the wind on a midweek, check out the local forecast models.

This time of year the water at Elsinore isn't too green yet. I vote Elsi.

Is the no surfing a lake rule or just something the lake patrol enforces?
