Just wondering if anyone else is having problems like this, and I want to get a consensus from other '04 owners (since I've been told by my dealer that the newer TAPS 2 setups are hydraulic)
Anyways, I'm on my THIRD TAPS ram in a little over a year. This is on a boat of which I took delivery 3/31/04.
This latest episode is definitely the motor, as it moves, but gets caught up unless its physically moved by someone behind the boat (ignition on, engine off). Since it automatically goes up to the "8" setting when the ignition is shut off, the plate is permanently up until its physically pushed down, while someone hits the TAPS down switch on the throttle. Now, the original ram drive was replaced because it quit working altogether.
Also, my dealer kindly informed me that since the boat is older than a year, its not covered by warranty. I've since politely asked them to request again that Tigé cover the parts- I have no problem installing this myself. But, as this is just the latest in a string of problems that started 3 months after I took delivery, I'm really beginning to question the quality of certain parts of the boat.
