    No good deed goes unpunished

We went out on the lake tonight and the whole lake was complete glass. We were only on our 2nd boarder when we got flagged down by 3 fisherman in a pontoon boat. Their engine was out and they were looking for a tow in. Of course, their truck was parked clear across the lake at an obscure marina. We towed them for about 7 miles going 14 miles an hour. As we were pulling them into the marina, I hit a rock and bent my prop. I had to go 7 mph across the whole lake again. Hopefully, it is just my prop and no damage to the shaft. I will put my spare prop on and try it tomorrow.

On another note, I replaced my helm and steering cable (my helm and cable is made by Morse and no longer available). It is smoother but still very stiff when turning under power to the left. I am guessing that my rudder is binding against the prop wash as somebody on here suggested.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Good luck with the spare prop. My boat is doing the same thing. New steering cable last year and it is nice and loose at idle speed but super stiff at speed to the left. Let me know what you find.

Hopefully those fisherman will never complain about a wakeboards wake again. Sucks it happened but you will probably be blessed by the butter gods from here forth and every rider will land their trick from your boat.

x3 on the good karma. You are paying it forward & did the right thing.

I've had an earlier prop fixed at Midwest Propeller

They are local to me in KC, but the guy said they do most of their business thru mail.

I would pull them in again...I will never forget the time that a family pulled our boat to the marina for about an hour on Lake Powell and wouldn't take any money.

I agree with all of your comments, the karma gods will find a way to make it even.

Anybody had any bad experiences with repaired props? I have repaired props on my outdrive boats, but have never dared with my v-drive.

Yes. I had one repaired and it was not perfect. The repair people need to have the acme specific pitch blocks to do it right. The local guy just hammered it until it looked good to the naked eye. These props are very sensitive to not being just right so I would ask if they have the acme pitch block for your exact prop before I give it to anyone.

I think Acme themselves will fix it for you for a pretty competitive price.

I called Acme and found out that the Prop Doc in Orem has their pitch blocks to repair them. $120 for the repair, my spare prop is also a little dinged and they are repairing that for $80.
