I have just purchased a 2001 21i over here in Australia. Loving the boat but the fuel gauge is jumping all over the place and most of the time showing empty. I have taken the fuel sender out and it operates as it should. But when in the tank it just works intermittently. Is there some way of fixing it? Thought the sender might be too light and maybe I could add some weight to it? Any advice would be great.

I’m in Melbourne and I have a 2000 21i
My fuel gauge works fine but there are time when skiing or kids wake boarding and only half a tank or less the gauge moves around.
I just check when I’m stopped and just floating
I’ve had mine for 10
Years not and doesn’t miss a beat.
My family ski on the Murray River and kids wake board as well
