    2003 22v fuel delivery issues...

    Hello!
Been an Tige owner for about a year now. Bought a 2003 22V thats been taken care of pretty well for the most part. Haven't had any real issues other than cleaning the IAC valve. Last winter I took the time to install a heater in the boat. I plumbed the out off the intake manifold and the return to the circulation pump. I have a electric water pump in the middle that turns on when the heater fans come on to help with circulating the water. I debated instead of hooking in with the idle wye connection but thought this would be easier. Heater has worked well no issues, but ever since its been installed the boat has had a 2 issues that seem to be related to this heater install.

    1. After the engine is up to temp on the lake and I turn it off, it wont start without open throttle. I installed shut off valves on both the out and the return and if I close those valves, the boat will then start again without giving it throttle. The hoses run from the engine all the way up to in front of the helm where the core is. I started thinking that maybe this is too long of a run and something with this setup is causing some sort of vapor lock so I installed a check valve one the out hose to make sure that hot water wasn't flowing back into the intake after the engine turned off. This seemed to sort of fix my problem, but then the 2nd problem appeared...

    2. Now when the boat is over 3000 RMPs of power, it very randomly sputters and surges....almost like bad gas or being starved for gas. Sometimes its a split second or sometimes the engine dies completely. It will start right back up though. I again go and shut of the hoses with the valves and it appears to fix the issue. I say appears cause I haven't tested this enough to be 100% sure that the heater is the culprit.

Things I've done to the boat recently:

    Oil Change
Water Separator/Filter Check and change (no water)
    Inline fuel filter change
I checked the anti siphon valve (looks good) but haven't replaced it yet.
Cleaned the IAC valve.....Idle works perfect when the heaters hoses are disconnected it appears.
I checked the plugs, cap and rotor...they seem clean....
I looked at the tmap sensor and it looks fine, didn't not replace yet.
I hooked up a scanner and get no error codes.
I did hook up a fuel pressure guage and got 40 psi on key on before engine start, haven't tested further though.

So my question really is....is there something that a heater can do to cause these symptoms? Part of me thinks that with the long run and the additional check valve, maybe its created too much pressure in the intake. *shug*

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
