    Fuel Consumption

I got a new prop this year (653). We put 9hrs on the boat this wkend and went throught about 50gals of fuel. This is about 1 1/2 tanks on my boat. We did about 3hrs of surfing, wakeboarding and riding. I really never checked the gas consumption before but was interested to know if this is about normal. The 1st time out this year I thought the RPM's were really high but I checked them this wkend and don't think they are that bad, 3500 = 30mph and my top speed is about 4400 = 40mph now. This was w/ no weight and only 2 people in the boat.

I get about 5 gph ( gallons per hour) on my 20v.
If I am pulling my 3 man tube, then about 10gph.
Tige, it's a way of life!

what engine do you have?? I got a 350 MAG MPI and I went out for 5 hours yesterday of straight driving and I still got 10-13 gallons of fuel left (depending on how accurate the gauge is... i would rather not test it!!)

I have found a pretty big difference between running across the lake at 20 mph and 30+mph. Fuel seems to last much longer at 20.

Our fuel consumption increased tremendously after the installation of our custom bimini top.

Over the years we have found on the variety of oats we have had that our best economy has been between 25 mph & 30 mph with the average being around 27. I have no idea why but that is what we have found. This is cruising not pulling riders. Pulling riders varies so much because of getting them up and what type of load we are pulling. My 110lb daughter does not eat as much fuel as bubba(me) on a slalom ski!
