Ballast Pump Timer Switch 2016 R21

I have a 2016 R21 with the T-1200 Atwood Tsunami pumps. Boat has approximately 200hrs on it and has only been used maybe 8 hours in the past couple of years. When initiate the ballast bag fill, I have one pump that will kick on for about 2 to 10 seconds and then shuts off. Thought maybe it was plugged, so took the pump insert out and hooked it up to a 12v battery and the pump works fine. It is my understanding that these pumps work off of a timer switch and that was my next item to check but not sure where it's at. Has anyone had an issue like this and solved it? Of course, I have one kid that only wants to surf on this side......

    Thanks in advance!

Fill and drain times are adjusted from the display screen.

There is no timer switch. Its just an algorithm based on the on time of the pump(s).

        Ah, thanks.

Any idea why the pump would only run for a second or two before shutting off? When I take it out and hook the pump up to a 12v battery, it seems to run fine.
I'm not exactly sure but I think the behavior is the same on fill or empty.

Appreciate your perspective and willingness to respond.

Try swapping that cartridge with another location and see if the problem follows to that location.

"I think the behavior is the same on fill or empty."

This would be two separate pumps.

I dont recall the 2016 R21 having a shut-off feature. The timer just runs the gauge. The pump could be drawing too much for the PDM and its sensing it and shutting the pump off.

Check the fuse size to make sure someone hasn't plugged in a higher value fuse to get the pump to run.

Fuse is correct. I've owned this boat for the past 5 years. It hasn't gotten as much use so I thought maybe it was just seized up so I took it out and spun it in both directions. Doesn't feel bound up. I can easily check the voltage when it kicks on, will do that next. May just buy a new pump cartridge and stick it in there and see what happens.

Not exactly sure what you're referring to when you reference "Shut off feature". I can fill all, fill one or empty one at a time, but when I do kick it on, it will run for about 3-5 seconds and then shut off. After I took it out the first time, hooked it up to a battery, the pump seemed to operate just fine. Actually tried to buy a new pump insert and bought the Tusnami2 and it didn't seem to sit right in the original Tsunami housing....bummer but back to the shop for a 1st version of the pump.

Pulled the pump out on the water and water was flowing freely into the pump housing so it's not plugged.

              onward through the fog.....
