I’m looking for a 12V rope winch to retrieve my 19lb box anchor. While this doesn’t sound like a difficult task when the anchor is 40’ to 60’ down it becomes a back breaking chore. The past three times I’ve deployed the anchor I’ve been in lower back pain for a few days afterwards. It would be nice to have a quick system that I can mount when it comes time to retrieve the anchor and store away the remaining 99.9% of the time. Anyone have a suggestion for the winch brand/model and ideas on how to mount it? Was also thinking about mounting it permanently under the drivers side storage area. Just need a removable rope guide to keep the rope off the gelcoat/interior for deployment/retreval.
one idea would be to permanently mount it under the drivers wheel location and lift the front seat when deploying/retrieving the anchor. In a setup like this a removable rope guide would be needed to keep the rope off the gelcoat at the bow of the boat.
