    Adventures with Thrifty McTige:

We've been towing kids all weekend long and we still haven't hit 1/2 on the gas gauge.

Our 22i performing flawlessly, except the shifter knob is loose.
If that's all we have to deal with life is good. I think there might be a micro screw on the back of it.

One couple floated up to our beach with dead batteries, a common event this time of year.
We gave them the old batteries we just changed outta the Tige'.
Still enough life in them to save one families day.

I can't stress enough to change out the impeller and good battery maintenance. We swap out batteries the fourth year on our boats

Pretty cheap insurance IMHO. Damn cheap.

There is a set screw at the bottom of the that knob facing the helm. Came loose on me last weekend. I backed it all the way out and put some Blu Loc-Tite on it.

I feel ya on the gas! We went out 4 times, I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 9 to 10 hrs, before I started seeing less than 10% on the gas guage. Mind you it was a lot of "Hit It", "He's Down" kind of thing since we just got our boat and getting our "ski" legs back...LOL But even still, very impressed on the fuel consumption so far.

Are you guys running the boats with any weight added?

I use about half+ a tank everytime I go out, all we do is surf and we have a lot of weight.

For us it is a mix. Early morning, no weight for skiing, kids kneeboard, and I am learning to wakeboard for the first time. Once it gets crowded and the jet skis start tearing up the lake, we fill the ballast and surf the rest of the day.

20V Mixed sking and boarding no surf or ballast about 6.5 gph with lighter riders. Heavy skiers like me about 7.5 gph. 5.7L Marine Power.

Cruising about 5 gph. Way better than my old I/O. Just wish it had 38-45 gallon tank. Pain on vacation to fill every day.
