Things I learned from this weekend

    1. first time you swamp the front end its intimidating
    2. i hate people who operate jet skis
    3. old school pressure operated speedos suck
    4. people who pull tubes on either boat or jet ski suck at paying attention to what they are doing and or where they are going
    5. I know now why perfect pass is amazing
    6. i need more speakers on the tower, and a 420 to isolate them
    7. the high/mid amp is getting way too hot
    9. relocation of subs
    10. finally new bindings for my Connelly Super Mid slalom

    stepping down now

Otherwise, she ran like a dream, everyboday had a blast and loved being pulled by a Tigé

    Agree with everything!!!

Always remember.....people on personal water craft are like the passengers on the short bus, only they are allowed to drive!!!!! Give them plenty....and I mean LOTS of room!!!

lol i wish i could give all those jackasses on the water the room, the lakes i have in range of me are small so these numb skulls that have no idea how to operate anything greater than a bike, im kinda stuck with just being a very observant operator

Sounds like you had a good time. Hopefully after next weekend I can post what a good time I had at the lake.

For the really bad ones that keep harrassing me and getting too close to my riders, I start actually turning and going straight at them. They are way faster and more nimble than I am so I haven't even gotten close to one of them yet. Plus, I see them way better when they are in front of me. I think it just sort of gives them the idea of what it feels like to have someone constantly following them.

They always seem to leave me alone all of a sudden when I do that.
          Be excellent to one another.

It also helps to keep a glove box full of M-80's!!!!!

They seem to disappear when the depth charges come out!!!!

LOL. I think we all have the same problems. We have big boats and everyone knows it. We make huge waves and jetskiers love it, tubers love it.

I do a couple things. My boat is very well known on the water and most are learning to keep there distance now. I have made waves for tubers and jet skiers to let them get it out of there system. I love people licking there lips looking at my wake and not respecting it so I let them learn a very valuable lesson. Never fails. I make the waves and the guys pull the tubers into them at mach 9. The tubes hit, get about 15 feet of air at 40 mph plus in a whip then crash either on another tuber or smack into the water. This is followed by lots of pain and parents that feel like idiots for treating there kids that way. People on PWC's just dont seem to get it. They get right up on our riders and surfers so I chase them down till they get the point.

Now when people see my boat they know when they can play and when they shouldnt. When tubers hit the wakes it is when I am putting around the lake and they know that 18 mph is fast enough cause that whip is going to be like 30. But every year there is someone new that has to learn the lesson.

I do not like vigilantism, however when my riders are are risk of getting hurt I need to protect them. Plus I want the calm water, hehe.

All the moombas and MC's on the lake know to stear clear so they do not get swamped by my wake too. Its Awesome being the big dog er lead dog.

i hate people that tube in glass, we tubed this weekend, but not in the glass area. we chased that guy out

Lots of idiots out this week. A number of times I simply pulled off to the side and stopped while pulling my son on the wakeboard simply because too many idiots around. I sit and let them pass and get going again. Frustrating...but part of it...

The most dangerous jo I saw this weekend was a guy alone in a malibu just cruising the river - at times going between boats pulling riders. The jet skiers were no trouble at all.

We got to the river early and were basically alone (other than a speed boat.) We tubed hard. After about two hours and our lunch, others started to show up. We continued tubing although we mostly stayed west of the rest of the boats (skiers and boarders.)

One boat (guy I've met before) got all pissy with me and "told" me to pick a side of the river. I picked a side (figured I'd go along with it rather than argue) and he got mad and said No, he'd go that way. At that point, I dropped the throttle and headed in the direction I'd chosen. We tubed and skied till the kids were wiped.

I love to ski butter! However, I understand a few things quite clearly:

                      1. the lake/river/causeway/etc. is communal property unless privately owned.
                      2. there will be tubers and they have every right to be there doing their thing as anyone else.
                      3. if you don't like it - that is your problem - it is highly likely that the other person could really care less
                      4. the choice is to whine like a little school girl or deal with reality without angst.

Tubing is a big part of what we do - and we will continue to do it - often and a lot. The smiles on my kids faces is what matters - school girl whining does not.

Best lesson was first year I got into boating; I was crusing with my bro-in-law pointing out who was the "Stand On" boat and who was "Give Way" boat and he said,

"You are the only person on this lake that read the rules. The rest of these people are drunk @$$holes...." (Fellow TigeOwners excluded)

And I agree with jwank11, it's public property so we all have the right to do what we want, and dealing with idiots is a part of it.

Best bet is to "not be that guy".

X2. I have four kids. The older two will surf and board. The younger two aren't there yet...but they love to tube...it's really all they can do. Like you, I simply try to treat other boaters the way I want to be treated, while still keeping a smile on my kids' faces.

I use the air horn judicously when jet skiers get too close. I haven't had too much trouble with boaters being a pain more than just isolated incidents...I don't think most boats like to stay behind and "enjoy" our wakes too much.

This weekend threatened rain--we said Screw it and went anyway. Except for a very short little drizzle all was good and we had almost the entire lake ot ourselves. I have NEVER seen Lake Geneva empty on a weekend, a holiday weekend no less!!!! It was awesome!!!
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

jwanck, guapo. i never ment to step on toes with tubing, i pull tubes also for the girls on the boat who dont like to do anything else, i put that statement twards the ones that dont pay attention, esspecially on the lakes that im on.

I also agree that is public property and everyone is allowed to do whatever they want to, just my recent trips have been bad dealing with these people who dont pay attention when a rider is down or about to get a rider up.

sorry if i offended anyone else
