    Starter problem on 22Ve

I just started my Memorial weekend on the lake and my boat starter is not working. I am not mechnically inclined... trying to get some help so I can be on the lake over the weekend... when I put my key in the ignition... and turn the key, the key just keeps turning round and round... and obviously the boat will not start. Any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to get a replacement key cylinder at most any Marine supply store like a West Marine, etc. Good luck.

call your dealer and get a new key switch, problem solved
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just that yours is stupid.

is the entire key housing turning around or is just he area where the key turns turning around.

If the entire housing is turning around, there is a bolt on the back that will tighten the housing so it doesn't turn.

it is just the area where the key turns around. Is the replacement key cylinder easy to replace, do I have to take out the whole ignition gear or can just the cylinder part be taken out easily?

I have spoken to my dealer but he is not local for me... finding a mechanic working this weekend is proving to be a challenge too.

It's a whole key cylinder/ignition switch asm. A jam nut holds the asm to the dash fascia and there are probably 3-4 wires attached to the back of the assembly. Pull the old one out and swap the wires one at a time. Each terminal is labeled with a letter.
