Is there a formula to calculate miles in a car engine vs miles in a boat engine?

I have a friend looking at some older Tige's and ask me this.

Too many variables to calculate while there is also a ton of speculations going along with those calculations.

Some people say 100 hours is about 10,000 miles.

You really can't compare the two.

I like to think we change our oil every 50 hours...so 50 hours = 3000 miles....but compared to Zad, that's quite conservative? But it definitely depends on how and who was behind the wheel.
