Oh, those don't count. I used to have one of those each year. I know I have highly visible label on the front support by the winch that reminds me to check the drain plug.

One of several reasons I replaced the factory bilge with a 1200 gpm and added two more 1200 gpm bilges in the corners. Money well spent for peace of mind in rough conditions (and insurance vs launching mishaps).

I was backing our RZ2 down the ramp this season to put in the slip after having picked the boat up from the dealer/storage. Just as it was going in, I thought about the plug. Hopped out and, sure enough, no plug. Close call.

Check the oil in the transmission for water intrusion (white foam) and, based on the level the water reached, assess whether the starter got flooded. You'll ultimately need a new one at an inopportune moment if it did.

Glad to hear that everything is alright. I wasn't able to read all the suggestions, but I would definitely recommend throwing a dehumidifier in your boat for the next few days, to thoroughly dry out your boat. I'd even spray your motor down with a silicone based spray to keep rust/corrosion away.

Also I've seen these before but don't have one myself.

I think almost every boat owner does this ONCE. Happened to me about 30 yrs ago. Now the boat does not get launched utill I look and see that the plug is in. One of the things you can do is go forward and try to get the boat to plane. That way the water gets sucked out of the bilge.
