    Boat Covers - Any recommendations?

I'm looking for an in water boat cover for my 2004 Limited 22V and I was quoted by one company I found on-line 400-450 bucks.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good boat cover company that's not very expensive?

"Not very expensive" seems to have diappeared since the fabric doubled in the past 24 months, and cheap tends to be synonymous with junk. I had Discount Boat Tops down in Largo (66th street and Ulmerton - 536-4412) make mine this year. 100% Sunbrella. A bolt of Sunbrella is $1K these days. This cover took a little over 1 bolt. It was far from cheap but worth every penny. Boat stays perfect clean. You can work on it at night and not get eaten alive by mosquito's. If I had to do it over, I would not have covered the swim platform. This would had given us the versatility of on-the-water" and "off-the-water" cover. Where do you ride? Lake Tarpon?

Is that the old WetSounds boat? The boat Wrap sure looks similar.

Looks like a great cover for mooring and storing!

Do you sleep in boat with that cover and some fans?

Do you have a second cover for towing or don't you tow?

Looks like a great cover for mooring and storing!Great for both!!

Do you sleep in boat with that cover and some fans? No, but could be a great experience.
Do you have a second cover for towing or don't you tow? Yes and tow all the time. Don't tow back and forth to Lake with cover, no need.
Here in FL, this type of cover is common for fishing boats.

Man I want your job. You have put a bunch of sweet mulah into that boat since you have bought it. The key to covers is making sure you have vents. Especially in the south with how humid it is. No vents you end up with an eco system under your cover. MOLD MOLD MOLD!!!! I know of some people that actually put dehumidifiers in their boats. Dont waste money on damp rid more of a pain in the *** than help.

Hi, I have the same boat as you, a 2004 22V, and just bought a new cover after much research. Basically, I have had "factory" covers in both sharkskin and canvas and disliked both materials. Spent only $250 or so for either cover but there is truth to "you get what you pay for". I felt both covers either trapped too much moisture in the boat and were untrailerable (sharkskin) or let too much water through (canvas).

After much research I decided I wanted a custom cover in sunbrella. No more poles to deal with and really wanted a highly breathable yet water repellant cover. After I decided that I went and looked through Tigeowners.com and Wakeworld to check the forums. For a custom cover the name Rankin kept coming up. It turns out, though, they have gone out of business (some time last year). I saw a good post on Wakeworld for Evolution Covers (the owner, Cory, used to work at Rankin) and reached out to them. He did a beautiful job and it cost $815.00 plus $50 for shipping (i am in Philadelphia area and they are in Seattle). Perfect fit and first rate craftsmanship. Would really recommend you look into a cover made with sunbrella and if you want a custom one would highly recommend Cory at Evolution Covers. He was always responsive (I had lot's of questions on the cover and how it would fit, etc) and completed it exactly when he said he would. Also, compared with the quotes of over $1000 I got from some local canvas shops he was a bargain. Contact information is on their web site: evolutioncovers.com.

Mulah? Let the elements take it's toll and you'll see Mulah evaporate, literally. The elements in Fl are brutal. My cover should last 8 years. without a good cover, a boat becomes a piece of old junk in 4 years. So....pay now or pay later.

Our boat is dry the very next day. When it rains, the boat is completely dry. Except for a drip or two here and there.

This type of boat cover is common for fishing boats down here, just not common on wake board boats.

As for jobs, mine is no way easy. Like most all small business owneres, we put in 60 hours a week.

$2400.00 included side zippers for skirts (to be added later) and included tax. (7%). Easier than hell to put on if it's taken off correctly.

Nobody not giving you a hard time not smart enough to be a thermo dynamic engineer and cant even spell it right. I am one of the lucky ones that get his boat in the garage but had to sacrifice on size. I own my own company too so know the hours very well. Just noticed you have done some really nice custom stuff to your RZ that were not cheap. I like the bim best. Have seen you boat at Doms. He takes care of my crappy MC. If he would just give me that new RZ he has at half price I would be in!!!

Thanks Everyone for the info on boat covers

I just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to give me some info. and pics on boat covers. I'm going to call Tige this weekend about the "Red Cross Cover" and I had a guy come out and take measurements on Thursday to do a custom Sunbrella cover. Hopefully one or the other will work out, if not I'm going to use those points of contact you all provided.

Someone asked where I ride? Lake Tarpon

Also the boat graphic on that one Tige was very cool, where did you go to get that wrap applied and was it expensive?

                            Thanks again everyone!

Let me throw my 2 cents in here since now I can speak from some experience.

I got the factory cover from Tige for our '10 Ve. We just traveled up to NC and back from Tampa Fl (1200+ miles round trip), and the cover performed flawlessly. With the exception of me forgetting to bring along the poles to prop it up to keep rain water from pooling on the cover, DOH! It is felt lined all the way around where it makes contact with the boat, so zero scratches on red and black gel coat.

I do not know if this is the same cover you can buy from the Tige store, but if it is, and if I were to ever need to replace it for some reason, I would not hesitate about going with the Tige cover again.
