Lake Mead reunion V - date selected!

It is time to get preparing for Lake Mead Fall Reunion V.

There have been some changes at The Boat Shop in Las Vegas since our last meeting. Grant is the new owner of The Boat Shop. I spoke to him this morning and he is stoked to be part of the tradition. We think that the 25th of September is a great day. Pencil it in, as it is possible it might change. Will know for sure as the word gets out.

Matt Dettman is still at the boat shop in a sales and consulting capacity and hopes to be there too. I hope he can make it too.

Lake Mead is usually nothing but buttery water for miles that time of year.

Bad05 has already contacted a few vendors to see what swag they can offer us. He did an awesome job last year at getting a few things for us. SBFan got us some stuff the last 2 years, including a prop from Acme.

2 years ago we had Erik Ruck, and last year Nick Weinacke came. In previous years other pro riders have been out as well. Tige has really stepped up these last two years with some of their top riders and we hope they can fit that into someone's schedule.

Sorry if I forgot any highlights.

Most importantly, it is just a good time to put a face with some of the names on the forum and spend some time sharing what we love to do. I look forward to seeing all who can come again this year.
    Be excellent to one another.

Absolutely cannot wait for the reunion! A little off topic but....while I was lifting the morning I had a little AC/DC Back in Black came on and I thought of 6'-10" Larry dancing on his boat during the stereo competition. Good times!

I am still disappointed that I missed last year. I have since given the boss that made me cancel my plans 20 minutes prior to leaving the big middle finger salute.

I could possible bring a bunch of Company products if anyone is interested. Or actually have Tall bring them since they are out of St. George.

I've started calling vendors to see if they can set aside some swag for the Reunion. Last year I waited and many stated that they could have helped more if they were given more notice....so consider this notice! I will be calling everyone I can think of. If you have a hook-up or have already made contact, please let me know on this thread or PM me. I can't wait for the reunion, hopefully there is still water in Lake Mead! I'm sure "Andrew's Island" will be visible this year which only means there will be new ones lurking below the surface.

A few more vendors have been contacted and I think the date should be set by next Monday, the 31st. That gives everyone ample time to check and mark their calendars for the 25th of Sept. As we all know, not everyone will be able to make it regardless of the weekend so as long as the majority is content with the 25th, then the 25th it is! This allows for vacation to be planned and tickets to be purchased. I know I have friends from the Midwest that fly in for it, some of you may remember Bill, I know Larry does. Although I'm not sure Sky Ski lessons will be given again this year, Larry's back flip attempt almost sunk the boat! jk Any how, those are just my thoughts....anyone else?

Bill was great, I'm planing on rocking an identical visor this year.

I'm laying the gauntlet down now. EVERYONE prepare to rough it camping on a beach Friday AND Saturday night. The weather will be great, the water will be greater () and you'll get to have a lot more fun. I've been going for a few years and it is a little disappointing to see some people only show up for a few hours hoping to win a free tube. Hang out overnight and enjoy a few s'mores. Some like to throw a few back but everyone has been very respectful (IMHO). If I have to I'll even bring some extra wieners and english muffins.

So who is Grant? Where did he come from? Does he have Tige experience? The sale of the boat shop does not come as a surprise, but I'm interested in what you know about him?

Send a PM or text or just call me to talk about it.

FYI - if anyone is planning to fly to Vegas and stay at one of major hotels along the strip - Allegiant Airlines is running a special with a free round trip ticket when you purchase one round trip ticket & hotel stay. Promotion ends June 2, but travel does not have to be completed until January 31, 2011. Allegiant is already pretty cheap if they fly into an airport near you, plus most all (if not all) of their flights are non-stops to Vegas. They do have several annoying fees (checked bags, online booking, etc.), but maybe this could help someone save some $$$.

And here is the fine print tagged at the end of the e-mail I received: *Offer based on a buy one (1) air/hotel package, get one (1) round-trip companion airfare for free. Only one free airfare per itinerary. Minimum two (2) night, two (2) person air/hotel package required. Companion travel must be on same itinerary as regular fare passenger. Must be purchased by June 2, 2010 for travel completed by Jan. 31, 2011. 2-day advance purchase required. Offer not available Nov. 28, Dec. 10-13, 2010 and Jan. 1-3, 2011. Prices do not include PFC, segment tax or Sept. 11 security fee of up to $10.70 per segment. A convenience fee of $14.99 per passenger will apply when booked on allegiant.com. A convenience fee of $14.99 per passenger, plus $15 per segment, will apply when purchased through Allegiant Air call centers. When purchased at the time of booking, a first checked bag fee of $15-$30 per bag and second checked bag fee of $25-$35 will apply per person, per segment. If purchased at flight check-in, a fee of $35 per checked bag, per person, per segment will apply for the first two bags checked. Additional higher fees will apply for three or more checked bags. A segment is one take-off and one landing. Fare rules, routes and schedules are subject to change without notice. Restrictions apply. Offer not valid on previously purchased tickets.
