The i can be used well for both, but I am biased perhaps... I know at 18-22, with Taps correct, there is a serious ramp in the wake that has the ability to launch anyone high and at the same time, at 32-34 with Taps adjusted, the wake flattens out nicely and allows for fairly agressive skiing.
Maybe throg will chime in as he had a 22i and his kid is a top boarder.
Likes: everyone has their own seat, engine compartment makes a nice table, engine has easy access to work on (you can change the impeller in about 15 minutes on the water, I have been there)you don't have to sit right next to someone stepping on toes and such when you have a full boat, it's a unique configuration no one else makes one quite like it!
Dislikes: Maybe not not as good as far as weight,, maybe (I can still free surf with no ballast and two people in the boat, and I'm a fat, out of shape, old guy, 245 pounder), it would be nice sometimes to have the V-drive seating for partying, the pad on rear locker pads are OK for laying on but it would be nicer to have the larger sunpad on the V-drives.
That's what makes it difficult. I will be coming from an I/O w/ side by side seat/loungers. I have always liked the 22i configuration and having a seat for everyone is nice. I guess I need to sit in one and test out to be sure...
How have they been for reliability? The local dealer (2 hours away) just dropped Tige for Nautique...just wondering
We had a 22i and now have a RZ2. I think the seating configuration on the 22i is great and unique, like it was said nobody else does it like that. I do recall having to walk around people when there was more than a few in it.
Go check them both out, you cannot go wrong with either but I would recommend the V.
