Perhaps a tuneup is in order…

It’s been looked over quite a few times. Apparently it’s just a bad combo of I run way too heavy, and elevation. I’ve improved it a bunch, from year 1, with prop and bow weight, but there are days I’m still pulling my last remaining hairs out, over it. Finding a different gear setup is my ultimate fix. It usable to about 5000’, at this point, just no surfing on Tahoe. It works fine for bar hopping, up there, so it isn’t totally useless!!

I think besides weight it has a lot to do with hull shape. R21/z1 hull had way more traditional V hull where the RZX3 has quasi pickle up front, though a very sharp keel line BUT it quickly blends out to the chines. Pushes a lot of water up front. I think deadrise angles at the transom are a big part of it as well. I'd be willing to bet the deadrise angle at the transom is steeper on the R21 than the RZX.....like 5 or 6* different if I had to guess.

You’re definitely right brotha!! It’s basically a school bus vs a corvette, as far as nose shape. You watch that thing crossing a lake and it’s blowing water out of the way, not cutting through it, at all.
