to be honest I never tried to max speed with full ballast until last week at Powell (3600 elevation) and it wouldn’t go past 13.1 at full throttle and it took forever to get there.

8-10 gph honestly isn’t bad with a supercharged engine. Also really watch your rpm when cruising, generally low 20s you burn way less fuel.
I’ve been doing about 12 hours a day on a centurion ri237 and average abut 25L/hour if heavy surfing which is around 6mpg but the centurion with the Gm is super efficient.
Haven’t kept track with my 25ZX and 460 but so far it’s slightly worse.

My SA weighs about the same as yours and I pull a wakeboard at full ballast with the 400 motor.
Doesn't seem right that a 575 wouldn't be able to get to wakeboard speed with full ballast.

A couple things to note here. The ZX lineup is weighted ballast wise with Surfing as the primary wakesport in mind. It isn't weighted like a Supra or Mastercraft etc which are both die hard wakeboard centric machines and thus more evenly weighted across the midship and nose. The caveat? It also surfs much much stronger out of the box in comparison.
You can drop a 25 into the water with 2 people on board, light fuel and throttle just about every factory surf machine out.
I don't think dealers talk about this enough. The boat has much more rear weight than most every other MFG. With that being said, you need to be aware of that when wakeboard etc with ballast on board.
People often think " Well it has 4000 lbs on board so I don't know why it won't get to speed, may buddies supra is fine"
It isn't strictly about the total weight, its more about WHERE that weight is in comparison.Germaine Marine

You obviously have more experience with it than most anyone else, can the 575 really not plane out with full ballast?

Thats a loaded question. Again. IMO, Tige weights the product to surf surf killer first and foremost out of the box. Its rear tanks are pretty big compared to competitors and the bow pretty light.
To answer your question, it depends. Elevation, people on board and where they are sitting. Sure if you have a boat full of people who are primarily sitting in the rear, are running full ballast at 3500 feet with the center plate at 4 vs 1 like 99% of the people do? Yeah it probably won't.
I have a 550 Supra SE here for example which is supercharged. We loaded it with 800lbs extra in the rear and 5 people on board. It crushed in the surf category, went to wakeboard and the boat just didn't want to push over onto plane with only the 800 extra and where we had it.
This whole discussion shouldn't be focussed on motor and whether its a lack of power issue and be more focussed on running attitude. This is exactly like weight and balance with pilots. Tige has a very Aft CG, many other are more neutral. Doesn't matter how much power you have here...........
Move the Cg more forward, Keep the bow weight and drain some in the rear. If you want to experiment like we have, set the boat for wake boarding. Leave the rears empty and add the rear bag weight at the mid ship line. The boat won't even feel like it has weight in it. Again. this is more of a weight location thing than lack of HP. It will take less weight at each end if the weight is at the end of the arm like TIGE. Keep that in mind and your whole perception will change on ballast etc.....

Gotcha.
Altitude must play a bigger part than I thought as I run a 2020sa with the 400 with full ballast and 600lbs of lead (all in the back) and 6 people wakeboarding full ballast and it does it. Needs the launch assist and takes a hot minute to plane out but it gets there just fine. I'm at 1000-1500ft though. I just can't imagine 200 more horsepower struggling to get there.
the more I read stuff like this the more I realize that altitude is the sworn enemy of boats haha.

Also with subfloor bags if there's a leak in the subfloor cavity the water can hang out around the bags jn their cavities as the passages to the bilge aren't that big.

To elaborate on what Germaine Marine is saying, I’ll use an example.
If you have a 8ft 2x4 board, use 1 hand to grab the board in the middle and pick it up and hold the board level. I’m sure most any adult male is strong enough to do this, should be pretty easy. Now put….. say 15lbs at one end of the board and try again. Even the strongest of men would not be able to pick up the board and hold it level. The center of lift and center of gravity are too far apart. The solution is not more power, solution is bring the Cg close to center of lift.
