So my prop guard is a limiting factor in adding a prop i want. Current prop is an 1/8” clearance so not enough room for my bigger prop.
wondering if I can cut off the prop guard, put boat back on trailer, add new prop then put back in water. Not sure if this will impact strength of frame. Won’t be traveling far with trailer. Once boat has new prop and in water I will drop trailer at welding shop to have them reattach and lower by and inch or so (they can’t do for a few weeks and current prop is bent)
Anyone have any experience with doing this? It doesn’t look like prop guard adds much strength to trailer design as it is flat stock and frame is primarily square tubing.
