Cruising range

Does anyone have a approx cruising range for a 2017 r21 with a 360? I have to go about 50 miles up a lake. There is a gas dock at the other end.

According to Boatingmag:

With the Indmar 360R engine, it rocketed onto plane at a time that averaged 4.4 seconds with the ballast tanks empty. We recorded a top speed of 42.8 mph, and the R21 proved efficient, netting a thrifty 3.6 mpg efficiency at 35 mph.

48 gal capacity : 50 miles / 3.6 mpg = 13.9 Gallons - I'd say you'll be fine.

I keep a fuel log, and my R23 burns an average of 4.5gal/hr. Our general usage would be equivalent to a 25mph cruise. So 2 hours would be about 10-12gallons tops

400, 1.5 gear, 15x13 prop

That’s over 65hrs, and actually 4.9gal/hr not 4.5. I should have looked it up v relying on my memory….lol

Try and keep your rpm as much under 4k, ideally more at 3k and you will see a huge savings in fuel.

Good point, my rpm will range from 2700-3400 depending on what I’m doing….

[mention]USWalker [/mention] run with least amount of ballast as possible, but you can play with adding some to the bow to keep the bow down to reduce rpm. Also adjust center plate some minimize rpm too

Thanks for all the info. I may have found a way to write the boat off as business transportation for a project I’m doing next month. Woohoo.
